Terms of Use
Effective date: August 12, 2026
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. That is the whole bargain: there is no account to create and nothing to sign.
Informational content only
Everything published on NorthBriar is general information for homeowners, not professional advice. It is not plumbing advice for your specific system, not legal advice, not insurance advice, and not financial advice. Homes, climates, pipe materials, and local codes differ; a guide written for the freeze belt at large cannot know your basement. Before acting on anything here that involves money, regulated work, or risk, confirm the specifics with a licensed plumber or the relevant professional. If you attempt DIY steps described on this site, you do so at your own risk and within your own abilities.
Emergencies come before websites
If a pipe has burst, shut off your main water valve and keep people away from standing water near outlets or appliances before you do anything else, including reading further. If you smell gas, leave the building immediately and call 911. No page on this site is a substitute for emergency services, and nothing here should delay a call to them.
The referral service
The phone number on this site connects you with independent, licensed local plumbing partners, as disclosed in how we make money. NorthBriar is a publisher: we are not a party to any agreement between you and a plumber, we do not perform or supervise work, and we make no warranty regarding any partner's workmanship, pricing, scheduling, or permits. Estimates, contracts, and payment are strictly between you and the contractor. We encourage you to verify any contractor's license and insurance with your state licensing board before work begins.
Intellectual property
The text, tables, and original images on this site are the property of NorthBriar and are protected by copyright. You may read, print, and share links freely for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not republish, scrape, or repackage the content, in bulk or in substantial part, without written permission. Quoting brief excerpts with attribution and a link is always fine.
Acceptable use
Do not use this site or its phone number to harass partners, submit fraudulent requests, probe or disrupt the infrastructure, or misrepresent your identity. We may block access that violates these terms.
Third-party sources and links
Our guides cite external sources, including government and nonprofit organizations. Those links leave our control: we are not responsible for their content, availability, or accuracy after the date we cited them.
No warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard at accuracy (our process is documented in the editorial policy), but we make no warranty, express or implied, that the content is error-free, complete, or fit for your particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NorthBriar and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or from any referral connection, including property damage or costs of repair. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use this site, which is zero.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, where the publisher is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes belong to the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
Changes and contact
We may revise these terms; the effective date above changes when we do, and continued use after a revision means acceptance. Questions go through the contact page. See also our privacy policy and accessibility statement.
